Ah, The Super Bowl halftime show, a night that revolves around the performance of one lucky artist. In no more than 13 minutes the artist gets to put on a show that hopefully will be remembered forever (as a good show). With a ton of artists before him, yesterday night Kendrick Lamar took the stage with an entertaining and provoking performance. And let’s be honest those bell bottoms stole the show a little. 

Lamar being an artist that put a lot of thought behind his fashion it came as no surprise to figure out the deeper meanings behind this outfit he wore on one of the worlds biggest stages. With help from stylist Taylor McNeill they managed to put together an outfit that people just can’t stop talking about. Let’s walk through it from top to bottom.

Always having to add a bit of shimmer in his look Lamar opted for a backwards black cap with an Angel Wings brooch. Although it was not just your old granny’s brooch you can fish out of her attic. It was a $68.000 brooch by Rahaminov, guess we should all be happy he didn’t lose it on the field for a footballer to step on. If you thought that was enough diamonds to wear, think again. Numerous chains caught our eye but mainly the a chain. A not so subtle wink to his a minorrr lyric in his Drake diss track Not Like Us. What also caught people’s attention was the blue jacket he was sporting. A Martine Rose personalized leather jacket with Gloria printed on it. Gloria being the closing track of Lamar’s last album GNX, but also hinting at his songwriting skills and rap glory. Then the item that got most people talking, this bell bottom jeans. Guess they are really back now? A pair of blue washed flared jeans made by none other than Celine. And last but not least to support him on stage Kendrick wore a pair of Nike Air DT Max 96.

With a ton of superbowl performances before him full of outfit changes, glitter and glamour Kendrick shows that even with an outfit that at first glance looks a bit simple you can still steal the show. And let’s be honest, after looking closely that outfit becomes not so simple after all but more and more interesting.
